Salary and Benefits

PGY 1 = Total $68,640 

PGY 2 = Total $70,803
PGY 3 = Total $73,965 (PGY-3 Chief Resident $74,415)

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Professional liability insurance for clinical duties within the scope of the training program
  • Vacation: Residents will be allowed 20 days for vacation with compensation per each contract year. Vacation does not collect from year to year and there is no establishment of compensation in lieu of time off. Vacation time must be taken within the year of appointment with discretionary allowance for carry over by each program department.
  • Sick Leave: Residents will be allowed salaried sick days at the decision of the DIO and Program Director up to a maximum of 12 days during each academic year. Sick days will not accumulate if the resident is reappointed.
  • CME Days: The sponsoring institution will support time for Off-site Continuing Medical Education (CME) of high value (national meetings, presentation of research, etc.) allowing five (5) days away per year.
  • Educational stipend ($500 PGY-1 & 2, $1,000 PGY-3)
  • Housing stipend $10,000 one-time, subject to applicable withholdings and deductions
  • Relocation stipend $2,500 one-time, subject to applicable withholdings and deductions

Application Requirements

All applications and supporting documentation must be submitted via ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System). Your student affairs office can address any questions about ERAS. Hand-written applications and solicitation outside of ERAS will not be accepted.

Our selection committee will review your completed application. You will be notified of your interview status via ERAS.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, beginning on October 17, 2025, and will be accepted through December 20th, 2025. You may receive and invitation for an interview at any point during this review process.

Interview Process

The interview is a key part of a successful application. There will be an opportunity for two in-person events to visit the program at our Central Neighborhood Christian Health Clinic.


Once your ERAS application has been submitted, our selection committee will review it. If they determine that you are a good fit for the program, our Program Coordinator will arrange for an interview date. Interviews start October 17, 2025, and end December 20, 2025 , and we will offer both in-person and virtual sessions.


During the interview, you will have the opportunity to speak with faculty members, residents, and other CNCH staff. Interviews will be virtual but there will be the opportunity for two in-person events to visit the program at our Central Neighborhood Christian Health Clinic.

Application FAQs

Finding the right Residency Program to apply to is an important decision. Make sure you have all the information you need to begin your training.

Here are answers to common questions about the application process, requirements and the Central Neighborhood Christian Health Clinics (CNCH) Family Medicine Residency Program (FMRP).

  • What is unique or different about the CNCH FMRP?

    Unlike traditional hospital-based programs, the CNCH FMRP  is based in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and is a faith-based organization that serves medically vulnerable communities. The FMRP uses a model that prioritizes and emphasizes outpatient primary care delivery. Our program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

  • What are the application criteria?

    Requirements for all applicants:

    • Completed ERAS Residency Application
    • One letter of recommendation from a family physician
    • Two additional letters of recommendation from completed rotations
    • Dean’s letter
    • Medical school transcript

  • What are you looking for in an applicant?

    We are looking for applicants who are aligned with the vision and mission of CNCH, and have a demonstrated passion for and commitment to work in ethnically diverse, medically vulnerable communities. We are looking for residents who prioritize service.

    We are committed to recruiting, training and retaining underrepresented minorities in medicine. Additionally, fluency in Spanish preferred but is not required.


  • How many letters of recommendation do you require? Does one of the letters need to be from a family physician?

    We require three letters of recommendation, one of them from a family physician.

  • May I fax or email additional information to go along with my application?

    No. Please view our “Application Requirements” page and submit the required information along with your application via ERAS.

  • What is your application deadline?

    The application deadline is the second Friday in December.

    Applications in ERAS are released in September of the Academic Year. We highly advise to submit your application as early as possible since interview spots are limited and filled on a rolling basis. Our interview season roughly extends from October to December.


  • Do you train residents who are international medical graduates (IMG)?

    Yes, we welcome IMGs. Additional requirements for graduates of international medical schools (except Canadian) students include:

    • Six to 12 months of U.S. based, hands-on clinical experience (preferably in primary care)
    • Three letters of recommendation from an American medical school faculty member, who can verify your clinical skills. Letter-writers should have either:
    • Worked with you prior to your arrival in the United States
    • Worked with you in an internship, externship, clerkship, or equivalent experience
    • Evidence of having passed the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams
    • ECFMG certification

  • Do you participate in the Match?

    Yes, CNCH’s FMRP participates in the Match.

  • Do you sponsor visas?

    Yes. We accept and sponsor H1/J1 visas.

  • I applied. What happens next?

    Our team will review your application on ERAS. If you are selected for an interview, our Program Coordinator will reach out to you to schedule a time. To learn more about our requirements, please see previous questions for more information.

  • What types of patients will I see in a week working in family medicine?

    CNCH provides services to an ethnically diverse population, including many people who are underinsured or uninsured. The clinic primarily provides family medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology services along with dental care and a wide variety of community programs. There is a HIV/Substance Abuse Program and an integrated Behavioral Health Program.

  • What procedures will I learn during this residency?

    The Residency Program will provide Residents with the procedure training necessary to succeed. The FMRP has rotations that provide the opportunity procedure training in the following procedures;

    • Skin Biopsy: Excisional, punch and shave
    • Colposcopy
    • Contraceptive implant insertion and removal
    • Cast/splint application and removal
    • Endometrial biopsy
    • Genital wart treatment
    • I&D abscess, skin
    • Ingrown toenail surgery/excision
    • IUD insertion and removal
    • Joint aspiration
    • Joint injection
    • Laceration repair
    • OB ultrasound

    Other procedures will be performed in the hospital setting.


  • Does CNCH use electronic medical records (EMR)?

    Yes. CNCH uses IMS Medi-Tab.

  • What are the salary and benefits for residents?
