COVID-19 Testing, Treatment and Vaccinations
Getting vaccinated and boosted is the best way to stay protected against serious COVID-19 illness.
- CDC recommends COVID-19 primary series vaccine and booster shots for ages 6 months and up.
- Boosters are recommended for individuals 5 years and older who’ve completed the primary series to help stay protected from COVID-19.
- Booster shots can be received at least 2 months after completing the primary COVID-19 vaccination series.
TREATMENT
If you have COVID-19 and are more likely to get very sick, treatments are available that can reduce your chances of hospitalization and death.
Don’t delay, Treatment must be started within days after you first develop symptoms to be effective. Other medications can help reduce symptoms and help you manage your illness.

The best COVID-19 vaccine is the first one that is available to you. Do not wait for a specific brand.
All currently authorized and recommended COVID-19 vaccines:
- are safe,
- are effective, and
- reduce your risk of severe illness
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not recommend one vaccine over another.
We are currently providing three COVID-19 Vaccines
1.)BioNTech Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine:
- The BioNTech Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is authorized for 6 months and older.
- This is a two-shot vaccine that is given approximately 4 weeks (28 days) apart.
- After receiving your second vaccine, you will be considered fully vaccinated after 2 weeks.*
2.) Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine:
- The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is currently authorized for 6 months and older.
- This is a two-shot vaccine that is given approximately 4 weeks (28 days) apart.
- After receiving your second vaccine, you will be considered fully vaccinated after 2 weeks.*
*You should get your second shot as close to the recommended 3-week or 4-week interval as possible. However, your second shot may be given up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose, if necessary.
Please note: If you have had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) or an immediate allergic reaction to any ingredient in the vaccine you are scheduled to receive, you should not get that vaccine. If you have been instructed not to get one type of COVID-19 vaccine, you may still be able to get another type. Learn more information for people with allergies.
COVID-19 Testing Information
COVID-19 testing is available at all CNHF Clinics.
Tests are administered with kits that utilize nucleic acid amplification such as RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) and/or TMA (Transcription Mediated Amplification) for the detection of SARS-CoV-2.
More than 30,000 tests have been administered since the roll-out of our testing program with constant analysis of the epidemiological trends across our service areas.
All test results include information from the corresponding laboratory on the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) and validation.
Who should get tested?
- People going back to school, students, workers, athletes, and those who are frequently around others.
- People who have symptoms of COVID-19.
- People who have had close contact (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more) with someone with confirmed COVID-19.
- People who have taken part in activities that put them at higher risk for COVID-19 because they cannot socially distance themselves as needed: such as travel, attending social or mass gatherings, or being in crowded indoor settings without proper ventilation.
- People who have been asked or referred to get testing by their healthcare provider or state health department.
If you do get tested, you should self-quarantine/isolate at home pending test results and follow the advice of your healthcare provider or a public health professional.
Do we accept those without medical insurance?
Yes! We gladly accept those with and without medical insurance. An application for emergency medical Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) will be processed for the uninsured.
What to bring to the testing site:
Please have your ID and health insurance card/information ready when you arrive to get COVID-19 tested. To receive your test results, please provide a phone number and/or email address.
